What "style" of Paso Fino horse would you love to own?
There are basically two types of Paso Fino horses: 1) The show or "race car model" and, 2) the trail or "four wheel all terrain model." Both are excellent ways of riding a Paso Fino but with different purposes, pleasures and "cultural differences."
In contrast, "show horses" generally display more "brio" (hotter temperament) than the "calm and relaxed" Coral LaCE Paso Finos. The Coral horses demonstrate a distinct difference in the range and speed of gait (largo) which is less upright, lower to the ground, with greater extension and thus more suited for trail riding.
The traditionally trained Paso Fino show horse, with its spirited temperament and staccato beat, often struggles in a trail environment. Consequently, they do not always make the best trail mounts and vice versa with the relaxed trail pasos as show horses. However, Coral LaCE was the exception as a Grand National Champion in Performance and as a wonderful trail mount with his vast range of gait and calm, loving disposition.
At CC PasoFinos, our bloodlines produce calm and gentle horses that anyone can ride, both children and seniors, from the novice to the most experienced horseman, even individuals with physical limitations. As a result of their gentle temperaments, they are safer mounts and offer a more enjoyable ride.
The "Paso Fino trail rider" currently represents the majority of the American Paso Fino owners and riders of today which has ultimately prompted revision of the Paso Fino Horse Association (PFHA) to accomodate the trail enthusiast in its show venue. The Coral LaCE & Corito bloodlines produce well gaited horses which can be successfully shown in trail classes, such as, Pleasure, Western, Driving, Versatility, Trail or entrance into the National Largo Race. These horses also excel as pleasure mounts and in Endurance and Competitive Trail Riding (CTR).
It is a real pleasure to own and ride a "Coral LaCE Paso Fino" that has stamina, is intelligent, friendly, trusting and loyal with a wonderful temperament, not to mention, their incredably smooth ride. It is the combination of all these characteristics that makes the Coral horses "special, lifetime companions!"
Some of the most recent National level accolades of the Coral LaCE horses include: "Camelot's Knight de Vez" by Coral's John Henry de Vez, a Coral LaCE son, 2006 National Country Pleasure Champion; "Eduardo de Mateo" by Coral's Alejandro de Vez, another Coral LaCE son, 2006 Reserve National Largo Champion and High Point Country Pleasure Gelding for the Northeast Paso Fino Horse Association; and "Bronce de Vez" by Coral LaCE son, Sundancer Mako, is the 2007 National Largo Champion.
